Kami Gahiga is an experienced professional in the art sector, currently serving as the Art | Basel VIP Representative for African Regions since October 2024. Prior to this role, Kami held leadership positions including Head of VIP & Gallery Relations at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair and Art Advisor at The Baer Faxt. Additional roles include Private Art Advisor and Curator for Gahiga, positions in contemporary and modern African art at Sotheby's, and engagements with the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in VIP Relations. Kami has also contributed to the Art Acquisitions Committee at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto and worked as an Art Gallery Assistant at Ben Brown Fine Arts. Academically, Kami obtained a Baccalauréat from Institut Le Rosey, a Master's in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art, and a Political Science degree from the University of Toronto.
