Xinyan Tang's work experience begins with a position at Duke University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, where they conducted research on identifying molecular phenotype markers in aged and degenerated intervertebral disc cells. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Associate Specialist 3 at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on inflammation and degeneration associated with intervertebral disc disease. During this time, they also studied signal pathways and optimized therapeutic effects of non-invasive treatment on inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix remodeling in disc regeneration. Following their work at UCSF, Tang joined Ardelyx, Inc. as a Scientist for a short period. Xinyan then moved to Denali Therapeutics, where they worked from 2018 to 2021 as a Scientist, designing and optimizing biomarker analysis for preclinical and clinical samples. In 2021, Tang joined Zai Laboratory as a Senior Scientist, leading a project to understand the mechanism of action with a target and its associated markers. There, they were also responsible for biomarker assay development and analysis. Currently, Tang holds a position as a Senior Scientist II at ArsenalBio.
