Matt Odille has a diverse work experience in the software engineering field. Matt started their career as an Educational Facilitator at CCAC, where they helped students with programming courses. Matt then interned at Vocollect Healthcare Systems and Honeywell, gaining experience in test automation and software development. Afterward, they joined Vocollect Healthcare Systems as an Associate Software Engineer, where they worked on the development and maintenance of AccuNurse, a healthcare documentation product.
In 2013, they joined UPMC Enterprises as an Intermediate Software Engineer, contributing to projects such as Clinical Decision Support and Care Collaboration. Matt also worked on a data lake project, utilizing technologies such as AngularJS, Docker, GATE, and Ruby. Matt was later promoted to Senior Software Engineer, focusing on HIPAA-Compliant Messaging and other healthcare-related applications.
In 2016, Matt moved to medCPU, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they created a rules engine for clinical decision support alerts and worked on real-time interventions on top of an EMR window. Matt also processed HL7 messages using Java, Spring Boot, and other technologies.
In 2018, Matt returned to UPMC Enterprises as a Senior Staff Software Engineer. Matt contributed to projects related to healthcare, including developing custom Named Entity Recognition NLP algorithms and working on secure communication applications for clinicians. Matt later took on the role of Lead Software Engineer before becoming a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Arrive Health in 2023.
Throughout their work experience, Matt has demonstrated expertise in various technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AngularJS, and more. Matt has also showcased leadership skills, such as serving as a team leader and participating in company competitions.
Matt Odille attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 2005 to 2007, where they earned an Associate's degree in Computer Engineering. Matt then enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh from 2007 to 2010, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering.
