Michael J Richardson, PE has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2006 when they were a Senior Consultant at Mandli Communications. In this role, they established a program to test and release new software libraries for automating distress detection and analysis, developed and validated new procedures to utilize an existing 3D pavement imaging system, and collaborated with industry members to create research needs statements. Michael J also served as a Project Manager, managing data collection, processing, budgeting, and delivery of digital imagery, pavement, and LiDAR projects. As a Data Specialist, they managed the collection, processing, and delivery of IRI and rutting data for Tennessee DOT and collaborated with a software engineer to streamline processing procedures. In addition, they served as a Road Crew Intern, co-authoring an asset extraction manual for Hawaii DOT and applying mathematical algorithms to data and images for extraction of roadway features. Most recently, they have been a Project Manager at ARRB Systems Americas since 2020.
Michael J Richardson, PE obtained their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006. Michael J also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2003 as part of a Dual Degree Program. Michael J is currently enrolled in La Trobe University, although they have not yet obtained a degree. In 2015, they obtained their Professional Engineer certification from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Safety and Professional Services.
