Emily Garcia Sega, Ph.D.

Emily Garcia Sega, Ph.D. has been working in the field of chemistry since 2005. Emily began their career as an Intern at Sanofi Aventis in 2005, and then went on to pursue their PhD at the University of California at San Diego from 2006 to 2011. Following this, they served as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at Ithaca College from 2011 to 2013, where they taught courses in principles of chemistry, organic chemistry, upper electives, and associated laboratory courses, as well as supervised undergraduate research on the synthesis and preliminary evaluation of small molecules as regulators of quorum sensing. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Bridgewater State University, and then as an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Western New England University from 2015 to 2021. Most recently, they have been working as a Scientist II, Medicinal Chemist at Arrakis Therapeutics since 2021.

Emily Garcia Sega, Ph.D. received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from UC San Diego in 2011. Prior to that, they obtained their BS in Biochemistry from Seton Hall University in 2006. Additionally, they hold a certification in Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn, obtained in August 2020.
