Laura Mankowich Porter serves as the Assistant Principal at Yorktown High School within Arlington Public Schools since July 2015. Previously, Laura held the position of Assistant Principal at Alexandria City Public Schools from November 2010 to June 2015 and worked as a Biology Teacher and Science Department Chairperson at Commack High School from September 2000 to October 2010. Additional experience includes directing the Marine Biology Summer Program at Western Suffolk BOCES from June 2006 to August 2009. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Virginia Tech, a Master of Arts in Liberal Sciences with a specialization in Science Teacher Education from Stony Brook University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Science and Sociology from Binghamton University.
