Derek Cyr is an accomplished automation professional with extensive experience in the biotechnology field. Currently serving as the Lead Automation Engineer at Arena BioWorks since September 2024, Derek previously held the position of Lead Automation Scientist at SAGA Diagnostics and advanced through various roles at Tessera Therapeutics, GreenLight Biosciences, Inc., Q-State Biosciences, Inc., and PerkinElmer, Inc. Derek's career began at UC Berkeley, where work included roles as a Research Associate and Lab Assistant. Derek earned a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology with a focus on Developmental Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014.
