Bryan Simmons

Vice President Communications at Arcus Foundation

Bryan Simmons has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries and roles. Bryan started their career as an Account Specialist at Strayton Advertising and Public Relations. Bryan then served as the Director of PR and Development at The Artists Foundation before joining Harvard College Fund as an Assistant Director of Development. After that, they worked at Lotus Development Corporation, where they rose from Communications Manager to Director of Corporate Communications. During this time, Bryan managed all aspects of communications, including public relations, internal communications, speechwriting, and events. Bryan joined IBM as Vice President of Communications, leading teams and implementing viral communications strategies. Bryan also served as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for IBM Lotus Software, overseeing a $55 million budget and managing the brand's transition to a product family. Later, Bryan joined Arcus Foundation as Vice President of Communications before becoming a Member of the Board of Directors at Intend Health Strategies. Bryan then served as the Board Chair at Feedback Labs and is currently a Board Member and Executive Committee Member at Cambridge Health Alliance, where they also chair the Strategic Planning Committee. Overall, Bryan's extensive experience in leadership and communications roles showcases their expertise in strategic planning, marketing, and organizational development.

Bryan Simmons attended Harvard College from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in European History. Prior to their time at Harvard, they attended Phillips Exeter Academy from 1975 to 1979. In 1977 to 1978, Bryan also participated in the School Year Abroad program. Additionally, in March 2022, Bryan obtained a certification in Black Corporate Board Readiness from the Silicon Valley Executive Center.
