John Prior started their work experience in 1979 as an Officer in the USAF. John then worked as an Associate at Joint Staff from 2002 to 2003. Following that, they served as an LNO at USSOCOM from 2003 to 2006. In 2009, they joined Archimedes Global as Vice President, where they worked until the present.

John Prior has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics from the United States Air Force Academy, which they obtained between 1975 and 1979. John later pursued a Master of Science degree in Systems Management, with an emphasis in information systems, from the University of Southern California, which they completed between 1986 and 1990. More recently, they attended George Mason University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Geography and Cartography, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems. These educational achievements were completed by 2019.
