Abel Barrera has extensive work experience in the field of IT. Abel started their career in 1997 as an IT Consultant at Bacardi, where they worked for 11 years. In 2008, they joined the Archdiocese of Miami as the Director of IT.

Abel Barrera obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Chemistry from Miami Dade College between 1993 and 1998. Currently, they are pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in BAS Information Management Concentration Security & Network Assurance at Palm Beach State College, which is expected to be completed between 2020 and 2024.
