Sriram Sadagopan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in metallurgical research and development. Currently serving as Group Manager for Applications Technology at ArcelorMittal, Sriram leads a diverse R&D team that focuses on key areas such as metallurgical characterization, welding, and failure analysis, while also overseeing capital expenditure planning and the enhancement of laboratory capabilities. Previously, as a Lead Research Engineer, Sriram collaborated with an automotive OEM design team to create an industry-first web application for automotive body panel resistance, resulting in two patents and serving as Chairperson for the Auto/Steel Partnership consortium. Sriram began the career as a Research Assistant Professor at the Advanced Steel Processing and Products Research Center, emphasizing Finite Element Modeling and educational development. Sriram holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.
