Marianne Udow-Phillips

Marianne Udow-Phillips is the principal of Mu Consulting, Senior Adviser to the Center for Health and Research Transformation (CHRT) at the University of Michigan, and on faculty at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and Ford Public Policy School. In her current roles, Ms. Udow-Phillips provides strategic consulting and mentorship to advance social justice, improve population health and strengthen the effectiveness of health, public health and mental health systems. She was the founding executive director of CHRT which is an independent 501(c)(3) impact organization with a mission to advance evidence-based care delivery, improve population health, and expand access to care. From 2004 through 2007, she was director of the Michigan Department of Human Services, appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm. Ms. Udow-Phillips came to state service from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, where she served in leadership roles for over 20 years, most recently as Senior Vice President of Health Care Products and Provider Services. She serves on numerous boards and commissions.
