Ariel Melendez

Ariel Melendez has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. In 2005, Ariel worked as a Private Equity Intern at Allen & Company. Following this, Ariel joined ALK Technologies, Inc. in 2006 as a Senior Software Engineer and Android Team Lead. Here, Ariel supported the development and technical organization of GPS navigation solutions for Android.

In 2013, Ariel joined MuseAmi, Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they rapidly brought the company's intellectual property to life through mobile development. Ariel also played a key role in organizing and maintaining the tools necessary for engineering productivity. Ariel later transitioned to become the Manager of Engineering, guiding and supervising the operations of software engineering, backend services, and research teams. They also facilitated the adoption of the Scrum framework at MuseAmi.

From 2016 to 2021, Ariel worked at Schoology, starting as a Lead Mobile Engineer and later becoming a Principal Engineer. At Schoology, Ariel contributed significantly to the mobile engineering team and assumed a leadership role in development projects.

Presently, Ariel is the Chief Technology Officer at ar.io, a position they have held since 2021.

Ariel Melendez completed a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) at Princeton University from 2002 to 2006. In 2014, Ariel completed several online courses from different institutions including the University of Maryland and Vanderbilt University. These courses focused on programming mobile applications for Android handheld systems, pattern-oriented software architectures, and programming cloud services for Android handheld systems. Additionally, Ariel obtained several certifications in areas such as mobile cloud computing with Android, machine learning, and programming cloud services for Android handheld systems. Prior to attending Princeton University, Ariel attended Bergen Catholic High School from 1998 to 2002.
