Michael Hsai has extensive work experience in the field of finance, with a focus on financial planning and analysis. Michael currently holds the position of Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Applied Molecular Transport since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Director Commercial FP&A and Systems at Santen Pharmaceutical from 2019 to 2022. In this role, Michael led the long-term planning process, developed and drove integrated annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensured the integrity of reported financials, and established regular month-end performance reviews with business partners.

Before joining Santen Pharmaceutical, Michael served as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Singulex from 2017 to 2019. Michael also held the position of Alliance Controller at Genentech from 2016 to 2017 and worked as the Sr. Finance Manager-Specialty Health and Sr. Manager US Pharma - Supplier pricing at McKesson from 2012 to 2016.

Michael has significant experience in the life sciences industry, having worked at Life Technologies as a Senior Manager in qPCR Finance and Finance Manager in Americas Commercial Operations from 2005 to 2012. Michael also worked at Affymetrix as a Sr. Financial Analyst II from 2002 to 2005.

Michael began their career at Evolve as a Sr. Financial Analyst from 2000 to 2001 and later worked at The Industry Standard in the same role from 1999 to 2000. Michael Hsai completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Communications from the University of Michigan between 1989 and 1993. Michael then pursued further education and obtained an MBA degree in Finance from the University of San Francisco School of Management during the period of 1997 to 1999.
