Prahallada Ponnathota is an experienced engineer specializing in graphics RTL design and micro-architecture, currently working at Apple since September 2021 on the design of graphic processor IP for Apple products. Prior to Apple, Ponnathota worked at AMD from March 2012 to August 2021 as a Member of Technical Staff, where responsibilities included developing microarchitecture and implementing DirectX features in the Graphics Processor pipeline. Ponnathota's earlier career included roles at MediaTek, focusing on the Adaptive Voltage Scaling Controller, and at Analog Devices, where expertise was applied in synthesizing complex designs and verifying modules for mobile baseband processors. The career began at MACOM, developing test benches and validating chips. Ponnathota holds a Master of Science in Microelectronics and VLSI Design from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
