Investigator at Appellate Advocates

Mar Blondet is a seasoned investigative professional with extensive experience in legal and social justice roles. Currently serving as an Investigator at Appellate Advocates since September 2022, Mar is the first and only in-house investigator, focusing on post-conviction investigations and collaborating with attorneys on wrongful conviction cases. Previous roles include serving as an Intake Specialist at the Center for Justice Innovation, where over four hundred system-involved individuals were interviewed, and as an Investigator at the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board, conducting interviews related to NYPD misconduct allegations. Mar's investigative skills were also honed during a tenure as a Criminal Defense Investigator at the Legal Aid Society, where support for indigent defendants was provided. Earlier experience includes a legal internship at the Innocence Project, undergraduate journalism studies at Sarah Lawrence College, and work as a paralegal. Mar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Sarah Lawrence College and has studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
