Jamie Westell has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Starting in 2004, Jamie worked as a Technical Analyst at Vancouver Airport Authority for a year. In 2006, they joined DaimlerChrysler as an R&D Engineer for six months. Jamie then moved to McKesson in 2010, where they worked as a Software Engineer for two years. In 2012, they joined Avigilon as a Firmware Developer and subsequently held roles as Firmware Team Lead, Manager of Firmware Development, and Senior Manager of Firmware Development. Jamie remained with Avigilon until 2020. Currently, Jamie is working at Apera, starting as a Senior Software Development Engineer in 2021 and being promoted to the position of Director of Engineering in January 2022.

Jamie Westell completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University from 2002 to 2008. Following this, Jamie pursued a Master of Applied Science in Computer Vision at the same university from 2008 to 2010.
