Luis Garfias has a diverse work experience. Luis is currently employed at Apeel as the Senior Manager Tropicals Operations - LATAM, a role they began in July 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Field Service Supervisor Americas - LATAM at Apeel from August 2019 to July 2022. Luis also worked as a Technical Field Specialist at Apeel from October 2018 to August 2019.
Before joining Apeel, Luis co-founded the Four Ingenieros Foundation in September 2015.
Luis also worked at Procore Technologies as an Implementation Manager from April 2017 to October 2018 and as a Customer Support Representative - Latin America from April 2016 to April 2017.
Furthermore, Luis worked at Trikke Tech., Inc. as a Technical Support Engineer from August 2013 to April 2016.
Luis gained experience in structural analysis at UCSB, where they worked as an Analyst for Structures examples with Abaqus/CAE from April 2013 to June 2013. Luis was also an Undergraduate Team Member for a Capstone Project from September 2012 to June 2013.
Before that, Luis worked as a Private Tutor, providing instruction in calculus, physics, chemistry, and Spanish to high school and college students. Luis worked in this role from March 2010 to 2013.
Luis also contributed to social projects as an Undergraduate Team Member of UCSB Engineers Without Borders from April 2012 to June 2012, where they helped develop low-cost solutions for water systems in villages in Mali, Africa.
Luis Garfias completed their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Engineering and Physics from Santa Barbara City College, which they earned from 2007 to 2011. Luis then pursued further studies at UC Santa Barbara, where they obtained their Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2011 to 2013.
In addition to their formal education, Luis Garfias also gained several additional certifications. Luis became Procore Certified: Associate and completed the Procore Fundamentals program, both provided by Procore Technologies, in April 2016. Furthermore, they completed the Grow with Google Challenge Scholarship offered by Udacity in January 2018.
