David Fisher began their work experience in 2012 as a Graduate Student at the UCSB Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, where they worked until 2017. During this time, they completed a role as a Staff Scientist at Apeel from May 2017 to April 2021. David then transitioned to become a Senior Scientist in Process Development at Apeel until May 2022. Currently, David holds the role of Associate Director - Molecular Sciences at Apeel, starting in April 2021.

David Fisher began their education at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they attended from 2007 to 2011. It is unknown whether they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study during this time. Following their time at Cal Poly, Fisher attended UC Santa Barbara from 2012 to 2017, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry.
