Ian Johnston has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Area Operations Senior Manager for both the Northern and Central North Sea regions at Apache Corporation since December 2011. With a background in improving safety, reliability, and operational performance, Ian has held various leadership positions within Apache, including Integrated Activity Senior Manager, UK Business Transformation Manager, and Operations Team Lead. Prior to joining Apache, Ian worked as a Process Safety Engineer at ExxonMobil, focusing on risk management and process safety across UK and Norwegian assets, and completed internships in process safety and engineering at Wood Group, ExxonMobil, and Talisman Energy. Ian holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, which was earned between 2004 and 2009.
