Alexandre Carpentier has a wealth of experience in the field of neurosurgery and surgical technologies. Alexandre currently serves as the Chief Neurosurgery Department at Pitie Salpetriere Sorbonne University Hospital since September 2017. Prior to this role, they founded the Advanced Surgical Technologies Research Lab at Sorbonne Université in September 2006 and served as a Professor in Neurosurgery starting from September 2007. Alexandre also served as the Coordinator of the Sorbonne Brain Machine Interface clinical research group from September 2019. Additionally, Carpentier is a founder and board director of Carthera, a company they established in February 2010.
Alexandre Carpentier obtained their Thèse de Sciences in NeuroSciences from Sorbonne Université in the years 2000 to 2004. Alexandre later pursued a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Medicine, specifically Neurosurgery, at Yale University from 1998 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their Thèse de Médecine at Pierre and Marie Curie University from 1988 to 1995. Alexandre also attended Lycée Louis-le-Grand from 1986 to 1988. In 2014 to 2015, they earned a Master's degree in Hospital Management from Mines Paris.
