Tom Henighan is a highly experienced professional in the field of artificial intelligence and physics. Currently a Member of the Technical Staff at Anthropic since January 2021, Tom previously contributed to the Safety Team at OpenAI from July 2019 to January 2021. Prior to that, Tom worked as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Beehive AI and conducted graduate research at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, focusing on phonon spectroscopy techniques as part of a PhD program in physics at Stanford University. Additional experience includes research as a Fulbright Scholar at TU Delft and as an Undergraduate Researcher at Ohio State Physics, where Tom published multiple papers. Tom's academic foundation was established with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from The Ohio State University.
