Clare Plunkett Acharya is a seasoned professional in the field of social work and domestic violence services. Currently serving as the Director of Special Programs at Anthos|Home since September 2024, Clare previously held various leadership roles at Sanctuary for Families, including Assistant Deputy Director and Program Director for Residential Services. Clare has extensive experience managing domestic violence shelter programs and providing trauma-informed counseling. Prior roles also include CPP Therapist at the Association to Benefit Children, and Social Work Intern at Counseling in Schools, alongside earlier experience as Diversity Coordinator and Judiciary Committee Coordinator for the New York City Bar. Clare holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Barnard College.
