Anova is seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual to join our organization as the Director of IT Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, systems, and operations to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will play a key role in aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department.
About the Role:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the IT Operations team, aligning IT initiatives with business goals and objectives. Develop and communicate a clear vision for the future of IT operations within the organization.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, storage, and data centers. Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of infrastructure components to support business operations.
- Manage the administration and configuration of enterprise systems, including operating systems, databases, and middleware. Implement best practices for system monitoring, performance tuning, and disaster recovery to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Develop and implement IT security policies, procedures, and controls to protect company assets and data from internal and external threats. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to support IT operations. Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and monitor vendor performance to ensure value delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Provide coaching and support to enhance technical skills and professional growth within the team.
- Develop and manage the IT operations budget, including forecasting, planning, and cost control measures. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and resource allocation to maximize ROI on IT investments.
- Act as an IT partner for department leads, providing business cases for opportunities to reduce cost and/or increase value with IT investment.
- Implement ITIL or other best practices frameworks for change management, incident management, and problem resolution. Establish processes and procedures to minimize service disruptions and improve service quality.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in IT operations. Evaluate new tools and solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness within the organization.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISSP, PMP) preferred.
- Proven experience (3 to 5 years) in a senior leadership role overseeing IT operations in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, systems administration and network management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
- Solid understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks, with experience implementing ITIL processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization, LLMs and other emerging technologies shaping the future of IT operations.
- Experience with administration of Microsoft Office 365, Azure, SalesForce, Epicor and Freshservice.
