Malinda Lin has a range of work experience in various roles and companies. Malinda started their career in 2015 at J.W.E. Inc. as an Assistant Fashion Designer, where they worked until January 2018. In 2020, Malinda worked on several tech projects and hackathons, including creating a Personal Portfolio Website and participating in TechTogether NYC and Opportunity Hack as a Frontend Engineer. Malinda also worked as a Front End Engineer for Kins and as a Software Engineer (Fullstack) for TasteMakers and A Modern Fruit Stand. In 2021, they joined Annalect as a Full Stack Apprentice and later transitioned to a Full Stack Developer role.

Malinda Lin completed The Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy in 2020, where they focused on Computer Software Engineering. Prior to this, from 2011 to 2015, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts in Fashion/Apparel Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Additionally, they attended Polimoda for an unspecified duration to further their studies in Fashion/Apparel Design.
