Marjorie James FCIPD has a comprehensive work experience spanning over several organizations. Starting in 1991, they worked as the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Arts Council England for 17 years. In 2008, they joined Everychild as the Director of Corporate Services, where they were responsible for HR, IT, and Facilities. In 2011, they took on the role of Director of Human Resources at YMCA Hornsey, where they implemented HR policies and practices and recruited key executive staff. Marjorie then moved to East London YMCA as the Executive Director of Corporate Services from 2011 to 2017. From 2014 to 2014, they served as the Acting Chief Executive at Forest YMCA. In 2017, Marjorie assumed the position of Group Director of People & Culture at YMCA St Paul's Group until 2023. Currently, they hold the role of Chief People Officer at Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families.

Marjorie James FCIPD has a strong education history with a focus on organizational leadership and human resources management. Marjorie obtained a Certificate in Leadership from the Roffey Park Institute in 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Human Resources Development & Employment Strategies from the University of Greenwich between 1998 and 2000. Additionally, they attained a Post Grad Diploma in HRM from the University of Westminster from 1992 to 1994. Marjorie also holds a certification as an Intermediate Certificate in Organisational Coach-Mentoring from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, obtained in March 2016. Alongside their formal education, they completed a leadership development program with Common Purpose.
