Luca Distefano has work experience in different scientific roles. Luca started as a Research Intern at Wageningen University & Research in 2016. In 2017, they became a Doctoral Student at the University of Zurich and continued this role until December 2018. From January 2019 to September 2022, Luca worked as a Doctoral Student at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich. Currently, Luca is a Scientist in DNA Science at Anjarium Biosciences, starting from January 2023.

Luca Distefano began their education journey in 2011 at Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences. Luca successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2014. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained their Master's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2017. In 2017, Luca Distefano furthered their education by enrolling at ETH Zürich, where they embarked on a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Plant Science. Luca is expected to complete their PhD program in 2022.
