Sam Wolbert serves as the President and CEO of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington since September 2017, leading a staff of 50 and overseeing a multi-million dollar budget while advancing animal welfare initiatives in the northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. Metro area. Previously, Sam held the position of District Leader at The Humane Society of the United States, where collaboration with state directors and legislators facilitated stronger animal protection laws. As Executive Director of the Paris Animal Welfare Society, growth in staffing and funding was achieved along with expanded service contracts. Sam's early career included legal work at FRANdata and teaching English as a second language in Spain. Educational qualifications include a BA in Political Science and History from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
