Gunpil Hwang has a diverse work experience, starting as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 2020. Gunpil then co-founded Obelab Inc. in 2013 and served as a Co-founder until 2016. In 2020, Gunpil became the CEO & Co-founder of Aniai, a tech startup focused on transforming the foodservice industry. In 2021, they were a finalist at Microsoft for Startups. In 2022, Gunpil's work with Aniai gained recognition as the company became a finalist in the Global Business Expansion Contest hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and KDB. Gunpil Hwang attended the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Management Science. Gunpil then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from 2013 to 2015 at the same institution. Gunpil Hwang continued their education at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology as they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Electrical Engineering from 2015 to 2020.
