Rafael Costa Chaves is a seasoned geologist with over 18 years of experience in the mining industry. Currently serving as a Geologic Modeling Specialist at Anglogold Ashanti North America Inc. since April 2024, Rafael has held various significant roles at AngloGold Ashanti since March 2010, including Senior Underground Mine Geologist, Brownfields Exploration Coordinator, and Exploration Geologist. Previously, Rafael worked as an Underground Geologist - Coordinator at Jaguar Mining Inc. from April 2006 to August 2009. Rafael holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, completed in 2005.
