Rachael Hornback began their work experience in 2012 as a Camp Counselor at Southlake YMCA. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as an Educational Coordinator at the same organization, where they developed educational activities for campers in grades K through 5. In 2015, Rachael became a Pre-Service Teacher at Indiana University Bloomington and later transitioned to a 4th Grade Teacher at Anderson Community Schools in 2015. Rachael then became a 3rd Grade Teacher at the same school in 2016.

Rachael Hornback obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Indiana University Bloomington, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they attended Crown Point High School from 2008 to 2011, though no specific degree or field of study is mentioned during this time.
