Peter Shiozawa is an experienced Intellectual Property Counsel at Ancestry, specializing in patent harvesting, preparation, prosecution, and various aspects of patent management, including searching and litigation. Prior to this role, Peter served as a Registered Patent Attorney at Workman Nydegger, where responsibilities included patent preparation, prosecution, and providing opinions on patentability and infringement. Peter's early career involved positions at ExxonMobil, including Law Clerk within the Chemical Company and Co-op Engineer, where contributions focused on manufacturing R&D and the design of chemical production units. Peter holds dual Doctor of Law degrees from BYU Law School and the University of Houston Law Center, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
