Jefferson Douglas has a long and distinguished career in the scientific field. Jefferson began their career in 2000 as the Volatile Analysis Group Manager at the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In this role, they managed a group of 6-10 scientists and was responsible for Volatiles analysis by EPA methods 624, and 8240 and 8260, as well as Semi-Volatile analysis by 625 and 8270. In 2001, they moved to Bayer HealthCare, where they worked as a Scientist. In this role, they were primarily responsible for supervising the transfer of assays from a variety of research / development entities into the GBD Analytics group, as well as extensive post development assay optimization. Jefferson was also a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a variety of techniques including HPLC / UPLC / GCMS. Agilent CDS and Several flavors of Chemstation / OpenLab and LabVantage LIMS system. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as a Scientist 3 at Amyris.
Jefferson Douglas obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Harding University between 1982 and 1987. Jefferson also took courses in Biochemistry, Immunology, General Neurology, and Biostatistics at UC Berkeley Extension.
