Ludger Leenders is an experienced project manager and researcher in the field of energy systems, currently serving as Project Manager for Smart Grids at EKZ since January 2023. Previously, Ludger held a postdoctoral researcher position at the Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group at ETH Zurich, focusing on the optimization and decarbonization of multi-energy systems. Ludger has led research teams, supervising Ph.D. candidates, and has a strong background in mathematical optimization methods for integrating energy and production systems. Education includes a Dr.-Ing. in Energy Systems Engineering, an MS in Energy Engineering, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering, all obtained from RWTH Aachen University. Teaching experience encompasses subjects such as sustainable energy systems and energy system engineering.
