Rob Carter is an independent CPA at Ampol. Rob was previously the General Manager - Property & Construction at Coles from October 2015 to November 2018. In this role, they were accountable for all aspects of the group property functions and lifecycle within the Coles Supermarket and Liquor businesses as well as the Supply Chain and Coles Online property networks. Some of their notable deliverables include leading a divestment program of >$500M of Freehold Supermarket assets and reducing Supermarket fit out costs by 20%. Rob also oversaw the construction and opening of 60 new supermarkets, including ~10 Neighbourhood Shopping Centres, as well as the approval of 80 new supermarket locations. Rob's core responsibilities encompassed the property lifecycle and included capital management, governance, and projections; all property-related feasibility and Board Approval; developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key external stakeholders and landlords; leadership of national team structure with multi discipline accountability; development and implementation of Property Corporate Strategy aligned with Coles business plan and objectives; identification of Cost Mitigation and simplification opportunity and priority; partnership with senior corporate stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes and service levels; and preservation of retail fleet occupancy horizon and cost.
