Steve Stoupa, CPA, CGMA has over 30 years of work experience in finance and accounting. Steve is currently the Director of Finance at the American Political Science Association. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Finance at the Washington Hebrew Congregation, where they were responsible for managing a $12M annual budget and overseeing the financial integrity of the Temple. Before that, Steve served as the Deputy EVP/CFO of the International Association for the Study of Pain and as the Vice President of Finance for the American Chiropractic Association. Steve also held leadership positions in finance and administration at the American Society for Cell Biology and the National Association of Health Underwriters. Early in their career, Steve worked as an Assistant Controller at the National Governors Association and as an Audit Staff and Senior Auditor at Price Waterhouse. With their strong background in finance and extensive experience in various organizations, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their current role.
Steve Stoupa, CPA, CGMA completed their high school education at George C Marshall High School from 1982 to 1986. Steve then attended George Mason University - School of Business from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. In 1996, Steve obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Accountancy. Later, in 2012, they obtained the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from the AICPA.
