Taryn MacKinney is an experienced editor and investigative analyst with a strong background in science communication and policy. Currently serving as an Editor for the American Physical Society since March 2022, Taryn manages a longstanding publication focused on physics, overseeing the creation of extensive print and online content. Prior experience includes leading investigative teams at the Union of Concerned Scientists and Atlantic Media, where Taryn collaborated with journalists on significant scientific findings and managed strategic content for various clients. Taryn's editorial skills were further honed through roles at Lightsource Creative Communications and the Center for Injury Research and Prevention, as well as through research positions at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Taryn holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Biological Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania.
