Mark Elsesser is an experienced professional in public and government affairs, currently serving as the Director of Public Affairs and previously in multiple leadership roles within the American Physical Society (APS Physics) since December 2013. Prior experience includes serving as a Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the California State Assembly from November 2012 to November 2013, along with postdoctoral research positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and New York University. Mark Elsesser holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
