Jonathan A. Bagger

Jonathan Bagger is an accomplished physicist currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Physical Society since January 2021. Bagger holds a long-standing position at Johns Hopkins University since July 1989, where various roles include Research Professor, Kreiger-Eisenhower Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Programs, Interim Provost & Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Professor of Physics and Astronomy. Bagger was previously a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at The University of British Columbia from July 2016 to January 2021 and served as Director at TRIUMF from July 2014 to December 2020. Early career experience includes roles as Associate Professor of Physics at Harvard University and Research Associate at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Education includes a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University, a Master's Degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mathematics, and Economics from Dartmouth College.
