Xan Young is a seasoned professional in public health and violence prevention, currently serving as a Principal Technical Assistance Consultant at the American Institutes for Research since October 2014. In this role, Xan directs the Violence Prevention Technical Assistance Center, funded by the CDC, focusing on comprehensive training and technical assistance for grantees to address various forms of violence. Previously, Xan was a Project Director at the Education Development Center, overseeing the Suicide Prevention Resource Center's Training Institute, and worked as a Strategic Planning Consultant for the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation. Additional experience includes serving as a Project Director at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a Research Coordinator at the University of Washington. Xan holds an MPH in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Virginia.
