Sarah Shires is an experienced professional specializing in development and fundraising, currently serving as a Regional Development Consultant for the American Heart Association since July 2024. Prior to this role, Sarah held several positions within the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association from December 2011 to February 2022, including Heart Ball Director and Senior Development Director. Additionally, Sarah was the Senior Director of Major Gifts at United Way of Greater Knoxville from February 2022 to July 2024 and began their career with an internship at CityLights in 2011. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communication from Texas Christian University, where education was completed at the John V. Roach Honors College and The Schieffer School of Journalism, following studies at Whitefield Academy.
