Janice Lachance, JD, FASAE, currently serves as Executive Director and CEO of the American Geophysical Union since July 2017, with prior roles including Interim Executive Director and CEO and Executive Vice President for Strategic Leadership and Global Outreach. Additionally, Janice is the Interim Executive Director of the American Library Association's Washington Office and a Fellow and board member at the National Academy of Public Administration. Previously, Janice held leadership positions such as Immediate Past President of the American Society for Public Administration, Interim President of the Better Business Bureau Institute for Marketplace Trust, and Interim President and CEO of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals. Janice's earlier roles include CEO Emeritus at the Special Libraries Association and a member of the Governing Board for the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. Janice's education includes a JD from Tulane University Law School and a BA in Sociology from Manhattanville University.
