Imani Cruz is an experienced professional in migration justice and policy advocacy. Currently serving as the Global Policy Coordinator for Migration Justice at the American Friends Service Committee since December 2021, Imani provides leadership for global policy initiatives and manages the national migration policy portfolio, addressing critical issues such as detention abolition and access to asylum. Imani has also participated in the Immigration Hub’s Leadership Cohort and has served as a presenter and panelist for the Embassy of Japan in the USA. Previous roles include co-leading the Global Policy Team for the Migration Youth & Children Platform, interning at the ACLU and the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and managing cases for asylum-seeking families at the International Rescue Committee. Imani holds a Master's degree in Public Policy Analysis from Arizona State University and a Certificate in Global Displacement and Migration Studies from Georgetown University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sociology from the University of Tampa.
