Amelia Ortiz, Ed.D. is an accomplished professional in the field of education and training, currently serving as the Associate Director for Carnegie Elective Classifications at the American Council on Education since June 2023. Previously, Amelia held the position of Sr. Director of Training & Development at Safety First Management, LLC, beginning in June 2021. Amelia's extensive experience in higher education includes roles as an Academic Advisor and Adult Educational Development Student Services Specialist at Harper College from September 2014 to January 2022, as well as an Admissions Counselor at Ashford University in 2013-2014. Prior experience also includes serving as a Graduate Instructor and McNair Scholars Graduate Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from January 2009 to May 2013. Amelia holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Ferris State University, a Master's of Science in Corporate Communication, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology, both from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
