Howard Bard has extensive work experience in the legal and insurance industries. Howard is currently working at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) as the Vice President and Principal Deputy General Counsel, a role they have held since September 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President and Chief Counsel, Employee Benefits at ACLI from February 2022 to September 2023. From 2015 to 2022, Bard worked at the American Council of Life Insurers as the Vice President, Taxes and Retirement Security. Before joining ACLI, they were employed at the Investment Company Institute as the Assistant General Counsel - Retirement Policy from November 2011 to July 2015. Bard also worked as Of Counsel at Slevin & Hart, P.C. from December 2005 to November 2011 and as a Shareholder at Feder Semo & Bard, P.C. from May 1993 to December 2005. Howard began their career at the U.S. Department of Labor - EBSA Office of Enforcement as a Senior Investigator from September 1988 to May 1993.
Howard Bard attended The George Washington University School of Business from 1981 to 1985. Howard earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Human Resource Administration. Following this, they enrolled at The George Washington University Law School from 1985 to 1988 and obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
