Jose Edison Gumarin, MD, MBA, CPE, is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine and leadership. Currently, Jose serves as a Certified Physician Executive with the American Association for Physician Leadership® since July 2018. In addition to this role, Jose is an Emergency Medicine Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) and has been an Emergency Physician with Emcare, TeamHealth, and ApolloMD since July 2002. Jose also holds the position of Medical Director and Chairman of the Emergency Department at Houston Medical Center, overseeing departmental operations and ensuring high-quality emergency care. Jose's educational background includes an MBA in Healthcare from Mercer University and an MD from the University of Santo Tomas, complemented by a degree in Medical Technology from the same institution. Furthermore, Jose operates as a Commercial Pilot and has held various medical director roles in EMS and other organizations.
