Biljana Parapid, MD, PhD, is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in cardiology. Currently, Biljana serves as a Leadership Council Member for the Women in Cardiology Section and as a member of the Working Group for Hypertension at the American College of Cardiology since September 2017. Biljana has held multiple roles at the University of Belgrade since June 2001, including Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine - Cardiology and Attending Physician in the Division of Cardiology at the Clinical Center of Serbia. Additionally, Biljana has been involved in ongoing research with The Seven Countries' Study since 2006, and has participated in various medical education initiatives across French universities. Biljana’s early career included a cardiology fellowship in Paris and a position as a cardiologist for the World Bank Group on a health technology assessment project. Educationally, Biljana obtained an MD from the University of Belgrade and enhanced language skills in medical English and pedagogy through international programs.
