Scott Openshaw is an experienced communications leader with a career spanning over 20 years in public policy and corporate communications. Currently serving as Senior Director of Communications at the American Chemistry Council since November 2012, Scott leads advocacy communications for a major trade association. Prior to this role, Scott held significant positions including Manager of Corporate Communications at MeadWestvaco, where responsibilities included supporting growth strategies for a Fortune 500 company, and Director of Communications at the Grocery Manufacturers Association, directing policy and advocacy communications for the food and beverage industry. Additionally, Scott served as Director of Communications for the Executive Office of the Governor in Florida, overseeing issue management and media relations. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Southern Mississippi.
