Rev. Dr. Patrick Lovejoy serves as Pastor at First Evangelical Lutheran Church since April 2021 and contributes as a writer for the Grand Rapids Herald-Review. As a Board Certified Christian Counselor for the American Association of Christian Counselors and a facilitator for the SYMBIS Assessment, Patrick specializes in premarital counseling. Since July 2014, Patrick has been an instructor and ThriveSphere facilitator with Couple Communication, focusing on marriage and relationship workshops. Additionally, Patrick has provided facilitation and consulting services for Healthy Congregations since March 2014. Previous roles include Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Port Angeles, Washington, and Pastor at the same church until April 2021. Educationally, Patrick holds a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Denver Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Pre-Law from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
