Derek du Preez is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the mining and metals industry, currently serving as Director/Executive Lead - Advisory at AMC Consultants since April 2023, where responsibilities include global performance management and the delivery of Advisory services. Previously, Derek held key positions at Deloitte as Senior Associate Director focusing on mining and metals, and at Trevali as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technical Officer. Additional leadership roles include Director of Digital Transformation at Vale, Head of Technology and Improvement at South32, and General Manager at BHP, each contributing to significant operational advancements and strategic leadership. Derek holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical) from the Department of Education, South Africa, and has completed a Management Development Program at the University of the Witwatersrand.
